Why is it so hard?

To get higher calories in with healthy foods?? Sure I could easily eat 1500+ calories if it was bad for me and tasted yummy ( loaded with fat) but I am not going for that, I am going for healthy good for you foods, and I tell ya, it is harder than heck to get in all those calories with healthy foods. Why is that?? Well one, I think, its because they are so filling. high protein and good for you carbs, and lots of fiber, ALL good for you , filling stuff. And TWO, well lets just be honest here, I don't like ALOT of healthy good for you stuff, I just don't. I eat the same things for about a month than rotate onto something else. Everything makes it way back into my life , but sometimes I go a month without something ( broccoli for example) . Crazy , I know this. OH and then to balance, Carbs, Fats, AND Protein, even harder!! Who knew?
Its the carbs that get me . Always the carbs.....

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Tami. I agree that it would be so much easier to get the yummy, loaded with fat and sodium stuff again. That was the old mind-set and I'm determined to succeed in becoming healthy and have a better quality of life again~~~then stick with it. You're role modeling is a great inspiration to me and hundreds of others. For that, I'll always be grateful.

Carbs are yummy but I think of the things that I can have instead of carbs, like for example if I do not eat carbs for a week, I might add up what I would have spent on chips,( or whatever my splurge food was, I have a super sweet tooth and have done this with ice cream ( for the household). And over a month I saved $8 dollars a week, at $4 weeks, that's $32, that is jeans and a top at my favorite store ( it is an upscale consignment shop). Tami you are truly an inspiration!

  3. Interesting, I never thought about that.... so there's really no excuse to be hungry while losing weight?
    Could you please post an example of what you eat in a day? Maybe you've already done this, if so can you point me to it? I feel overwhelmed at reading magazines, etc to find sample menus, I just think "That's not what real people eat. Real people, with jobs and families, etc..."
