no idea

what I am going to post about, but I thought it was time to update.

I thought I would start with birthday pictures!

YES! that is a cake, it was my yummy , worth every calorie , cause it was triple chocolate fudge cake. And the frosting is even better than the cake!
I woke up the morning of my birthday having lost 1 pound, pretty cool present if you ask me. I am here, one week later ( after eating cake ) down yet another pound. ( I have this odd thing that I dont record it till its been gone a week, just to make sure its really gone). So I can say ,that you can have your cake and eat it too!! When you work as hard as I have, yes you can!
I also got a little something that wasnt food, but I loved it just as much! I waited 40 years to get something in the little blue box!!

Onto fitness, my 10k is in a little over 8 weeks, I really really want to run it in less than 70 mins. I will be working on that over the next 8 weeks. I would like an 11 min mile. I am not a fast runner by any means, so I would be very happy with that!!!

March 16th , 2010

is my 40th birthday. Is the day that I have had in my head as a goal for the past 15 months. 15 months ago I made a choice to not have this day upon me , being 120 pounds overweight. I , for the first time in my life made a goal , and stayed with it. I am turning 40, not 120 pounds overweight, in fact, only 24 pounds away from my goal weight, and a size 10.
I feel better , healthier , than I ever ever have in my whole life. I do not mind turning 40 tomorrow, in fact, I am looking forward to the wonderful years my life will bring me now that I have this whole new fabulous life ahead of me!
My only regret is that I didnt do this sooner.

the time is going to go by, no matter what you do, dont waste it, take charge of your life now, you wont regret being healthy!

Shopping Fun!

I had the shopping day that I had been looking forward to for a long time on Saturday.
My friend Jenn and I celebrated my birthday a few days early, with a day of shopping and even eating , lol. we started out day at 8 am with an hour of cardio, then at 11 we were on our way to shop. First stop The cheesecake factory for lunch. we both had a salad with grilled chicken, then we shared two pieces of cheesecake, can I tell you how yummy they were?? it had been months and months and months that I had tasted something so sweet and yummy. Then we went out to the mall and I got some jeans, I tried on a size 13 ( we were in a juniors shop) and they were too big, so I got an 11. A size 11.
We shopped for new makeup, and then for new bras, my new size . 36 DD . at my largest , I was a 48 H .
Back for more shopping for clothes, I wanted new capris, and tried on several that were a size 10, but none thrilled me just yet that were that size.I did get two more pairs in the JRs dept size 11 , and I got a couple of tops. I had to take back what I said over and over again, 'just cause you can shop in the Jrs dept, doesnt mean you should'. But that was the only place I could find anything I liked!! I also got a new purse .
I wanted so badly to buy more clothes, but knowing I am not at my goal weight yet is stopping me.
I will post some pics of the new outfits when I wear them and take them.

it was a good week!

I broke thru that plateau FINALLY! that was a bitch, and I am happy its behind me.
But I also had a great run today. I have a 10k coming up in May, and my friend and I run every Sunday. I do short runs throughout the week, but Sundays are my long runs. Today we planned to do 6 hilly miles. when we got to the last hill, it was killing me and I had to walk the last half of it. around mile 4 my legs starting getting really tight. it really seemed like it was more than 6 miles. So when we were finished I got in my car and drove it. yeah it was 6.9 , almost 7 miles.
That is INSANE to me to think that I ran that! last summer I couldnt run 1 minute... I just ran 6.9 miles...

That was a good week!

Hello Plataeu

Nice to see you again. You have visited me before, and stayed for a month, But I do think your overstaying your welcome this time. Not that I didnt know you were going to show up plateau , I knew you would be coming, I just didnt want to see you just yet.
I knew this would happen, I knew that I would hang out with you for a while, and we would become , not friends, but well known to one another, I just didnt want to know you so well right now, I Was hoping we would get to know one another in about another 15 pounds or so.

Jan 24th was the last time I lost any weight. I took measurements on the 28th of Jan, and will take them again on the 28th of Feb. At that time , if nothing has changed, I will start freak out mode. untill then, I am doing my best to be ok with this visit, and keep doing what I have been doing for the past 14 months that has brought me such success. count all my calories, in and out, Spend at least 5 days a week working out, doing cardio and lifting weights, and running. I have had my trainer look at my food diary and I am following his advice, ( although, pat on the back for me, he didnt have much to critize ) . I will not let this visit from the "P" win .

Plataeu , You have overstayed your welcome, please go now....

I was talking to a customer yesterday that had had the lap band in DEC. she has lost 36 pounds since then. wow, good for her, I am happy she is taking the weight off. But the thing that gets me are the little things she said when she was talking about it.
1. The doctors made her lose 10% of her body weight before the would do the surgery, So she had to lose 30 pounds. Ok here is my thing, if you were able to lose the 30 pounds to do the surgery, dont you think you would think " hey, maybe I dont need to surgery, I can do this on my own!" But no, ok, I understand the want and need for a quick fix, I was there.

2. She was explaining how the lap band works, and she kept calling it her " safety net" " it wont let me overeat" . All I could think was ' what are you teaching yourself by doing this, by having your safety net ' do you know what the right amount of food your body needs to be fueled is? do you know what a portion size is? and I mean for your family, not for you , cause you have your safety net. do you know how many grams of sugar are in things? do you know how many carbs you should be eating in a day, how much sodium?how much Fat? what you need to burn calorie wise?
All these things are things that I have learned over the past 13 months, things I am happy to fill my brain with. and maybe she will learn these things, but I am happy, and PROUD that I learned them while losing the weight, TO lose the weight.
I am happy that people that have the surgery lose weight, I just wish they believed in themselves enough to know that they could have done it without surgery, it could have been done a healthy way, By no means is this the easy way, its ALOT of hard work, and a long journey, but I am so proud that I have done it. I proved to myself that I am strong and that I can do anything I want badly enough...

Running, again!

I know I already posted a post about running , But I wanted to post about my run today. Today I went by myself on a run. I was laying in bed very sad, and very tired. ( My grandfather passed away on Friday) . I was laying there and thought I need to get up and run, just get dressed and go. So I did. I went on the same run that I started on last July, the one that I did the C25K on. The one that I couldnt even run 60 seconds on without stopping. I went 45 minutes without stopping today! I did the loop, and did it again, and then turned around and went backwards so I could hit the hills going up. I just kept going and going and going, I felt like Forest Gump!
I am glad that I did that run alone, it was just me and my music, not really my thoughts, I dont like thinking while I run, I like letting the beat of the music make me go and that is the only thing that I think about while I run.
so if any of you ever think you cant run, think again. YES YOU CAN!
